For a job application, you will usually need a resume or CV. It should include your education, work experience, skills, projects, and relevant achievements. Depending on the job, you may also need a cover letter, certificates, references, or a portfolio. It is important to make your resume easy to read and adjust it to match the job you are applying for.
For a business meeting, you normally do not need a resume unless the meeting is related to a job or internship. Instead, you may bring information about your business, a proposal, presentation, or examples of your work. You should also prepare some questions and know what you want to discuss or achieve during the meeting.
In simple terms, a resume is mainly used to show an employer what you have done and what skills you have. A business meeting is usually focused on discussing an idea, opportunity, partnership, or business goal.

Miles,
You need a resume to apply for a job. It highlights your experiences, skills, and interests, helping employers see if you're a good fit. Use an AI tool to review and improve your resume for each job you apply for. Make sure everything you include is true, and use all available resources to make your resume better. Good luck!

Ensure your resume is tailored for the role. I recommend submitting a cover letter as well, even if it's not required. This will make your application stand out and provides a thorough explanation of your job skills and purpose for applying.

Make sure your resume is tailored to the job you're applying for. It's a good idea to have two versions: one for people to read and one for an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). I don't think a cover letter is needed since many employers don't require them now. Most online applications will ask for your LinkedIn profile, so set one up if you haven't already. Before your interview, research the company and prepare some questions. If you need help, AI tools can assist you in drafting questions.

I would also find someone who has the job you would like to apply for so that you can specifically ask their application experience - what did they need? How did they prepare?

For a job application, you will need your resume and a cover letter. When crafting both your resume and cover letter, make sure you are referencing the job post to be able to highlight what in your experience matches the job and which skills would stand out the most for that specific job. Make sure both documents are easy to read while being short, brief, and impactful. Highly recommend using AI review your resume and cover letter in parallel to the job post. You may also need a business/creative portfolio or references depending on what the job post says.
For a business meeting, you will need any documents related to the business matter being discussed. This could be a presentation, briefing book, fact sheet, or any simple notes. I recommend always doing research on the topic and people you are meeting with. get to understand the business partner and what they do so you have background knowledge on how to best go about conversation or what you can bring to the table.

When you apply for jobs, having a current resume is important. Keep it updated so you can easily change it for each job you want.
You might be up against many other people, but you can shine by showing off your best skills, experiences, and achievements.
Before you send your resume, take a moment to look it over. Make sure there are no spelling or grammar mistakes, and check that it looks neat and professional. This will help you make a great impression on employers.

When you want to apply for a job, you'll need a resume that's just right for the job, a cover letter that stands out, and some basic personal details for the application form. Sometimes, depending on the job or industry, employers might also ask for extra things like a portfolio or ID to show you can legally work.

Hi, Miles!
That's a great question. To apply for most jobs, you'll typically need:
-A resume that highlights your education, skills, volunteer work, extracurricular activities, and any work experience you may have.
-A completed application, which may ask for your contact information, education history, and previous experience.
-References, such as teachers, coaches, mentors, or supervisors who can speak about your character, work ethic, and strengths.
-A professional email address and phone number so employers can contact you.
As a student, don't worry if you don't have a lot of work experience yet. Employers often look for qualities such as dependability, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, teamwork, communication skills, and leadership experience from school activities, clubs, sports, or volunteer work.
Before applying, take some time to think about your interests and strengths. Look for opportunities that will help you build skills and gain experience. Part-time jobs, internships, volunteer positions, and campus organizations can all help you develop valuable skills that employers appreciate.
When you get an interview opportunity, be prepared to talk about your goals, experiences, and why you're interested in the position. Practice answering common interview questions and be ready to share examples of times you've solved problems, worked with others, or demonstrated responsibility.
Believe in yourself, stay persistent, and keep learning. Every job and experience can help you move one step closer to your future career goals.

The requirements can vary by employer, but most job applications ask for your contact information, education, work or volunteer experience, skills, and availability. You may also need references, identification, certifications, or a cover letter.
A résumé is helpful because it gives employers a quick summary of your experience, skills, education, accomplishments, and qualifications. Even if you have not held a formal job, you can include school projects, volunteer work, extracurricular activities, internships, and relevant skills. Read the job posting carefully and adjust your résumé to emphasize the qualifications that match the position.
For a business meeting, you may not need a résumé unless the meeting involves discussing a job, internship, partnership, or professional opportunity. Depending on the purpose, it may be more appropriate to bring a business plan, portfolio, work samples, presentation, list of questions, or notes about your ideas. You can ask the person organizing the meeting whether there is anything specific you should prepare or bring.
When in doubt, reach out to the person prior to a meeting to ensure you fully understand the expectations.

Hi Miles,
As suggested in the previous responses, a strong resume catered to the job is very important as well as references, LinkedIn, etc.
Another thing I would suggest is interview practice! The previously listed tips will get you in communication with the employer so it is important to understand what questions they might ask in the job application, interview, etc.
Personally, I used sites like biginterview.com as well as looking to Youtube for tips and tricks on what type of communication works with different employers.
Best of luck! Being curious and willing to learn is a great need in any field, so you are on the right track! You got this!
