Remember your situation and long term goals...

If you have many skills then try to find which one is your strength and which are the skills you want to increase.

Look for places with training in skills you lack. But always work hard and be nice to everyone, because you will see people over and over again.

Companies hot now: Amazon, Google, Apple

Some newer companies may be more risky and just offer work and no growth.

Do something good!!!

Kelsey’s Answer

Hi Brenda! I think a lot depends on what you are passionate about or interested in pursuing. The really cool thing about so many companies is that they need a wide range of individuals with unique skill sets. For example, I work for a tech start up company based in the Bay Area. I am on the company's social impact team. Even though we are a tech company and have lots of engineers/designers, we also have a marketing team, a legal team, a brand team, an HR department, a recruiting team, and so much more! Given my lack of tech in my background/schooling, I never though I would be working for a tech company! f you aren't sure exactly what you want to do, I would look for companies that hire a wide range of job roles and that the company itself is something you believe in and stand for. Hope this helps!

Paul’s Answer

Are you talking about companies to work for after you graduate from college or internships while still in school?

If you're looking for a company to work for post graduation then you should target companies that have open positions in the field you want to get into or something similar. I say this because you need to be realistic and understand that you will be looking for an entry level position and it may or may not be in an industry you want to stay in long-term. You have to build your experience and skill set over time to make you an ideal candidate for a position you may really want in the future. So in other words, don't be picky.

If you're taking about internships, an ideal company would operate in an industry you want to spend your career in because you may need those connections and referrals down the road.

Let me know if I misunderstood your question.
