Firoz’s Answer

Not needing a degree may include software programming for an automotive company, or a mechanic. Artist aspects of design may not require a degree.

Mechanical, computer, industrial operations, automotive, electrical, engineering probably require the respective bachelors degree.

Heather’s Answer

Yes and no. My father is a master mechanic that worked on variety of high end cars and even at some point for the city on their vehicles. Per my father he never had a degree but worked with those that did; a degree does not give common sense or the skills just book smarts. However if you wish to move up and into Mangemnet position for a city job a degree is needed.

I have seen AS in automotive or even get a degree in business.
