Rachel’s Answer

When treating cancer patients, surgery can often provide a definitive cure and drastically improve overall survival. I am a surgeon, because I enjoy operating, and I gain great satisfaction in changing people's lives for the better.

Estelle’s Answer

Great question! I truly enjoy performing surgery because I really like to use my hands and fix medical problems. I enjoy tasks with a defined start and finish. Surgery is challenging and always interesting. It is never boring, to say the least. The training is fun and difficult but rewarding.
If you choose surgery, the training will be well worth the reward!
Good luck:)

Richard’s Answer

The surgeons I know obviously have a desire to help people. But specifically they crave the immediate results provided by a successful surgery as opposed to managing life-long problems like diabetes and hypertension.
