I would like to be a Nurse anesthetist, however I am also interested in research for various diseases such as Cancer. Will I have time to do both?

Becoming a Nurse Anesthetist requires 8-10 years.

There are certain research nursing position that do require experience with anesthesia. Once you have your license, look into positions that are dealing with research, especially cancer patients and see if the roles require experience with anesthesia
