Chris’s Answer

I think we need to first determine what it is you want to do. Theater only? Or film and theater? Either way, an education fro the fine arts at Stanford is going to cost you over 100K for four years. I think that money can be better spent somewhere else. If you get a full ride...TAKE IT! It would be a great experience.

If the career is what you want, then I suggest looking at places that offer the type of acting you want. Stage or screen. There are a lot of resources out there and some for sure are not credible.

Getting a degree in general for this industry is not important. No-one has asked me what school I went to, did I graduate, or what was my degree in. It has never added to me getting a job. I went to FSU which has a great theatre and film school. Even then...noone cares. LOL. I say focus on the training and focus on learning the business, or else you will walk away with a lot of debt.

Debt for an actor is never a great way to start out life.
