Sherwin’s Answer

AT&T's Values are summed up as follows: Live true. Think big. Pursue excellence. Inspire imagination. Be there. Stand for equality. Embrace freedom. Make a difference.

Live true.
Do the right thing, no compromise.
This underpins all our other values, and it begins with how we treat our customers and each other. None of us is perfect. But when we make a mistake, we have the character and courage to make it right and learn from it.

Think big.
Innovate and get there first.
AT&T is where people come to invent the future. That’s been our legacy since the very beginning. In everything we do, we aim to set the pace for everyone else.

Pursue excellence.
In everything, every time.
We work tirelessly to make sure that everything we deliver represents our very best. We may not be perfect, but we always learn from our experiences and constantly improve.

Inspire imagination.
Give people what they don't expect.
Each day is an opportunity to create something that changes the way people see the world. And no one does that better than AT&T, from the stories created by WarnerMedia and throughout every other part of our company. We deliver the unexpected.

Be there.
When customers & colleagues need you most.
That’s when we’re at our best. Whether it’s restoring service during a natural disaster, helping a community recover from hardship or reporting the news from dangerous locations, our people rise to the occasion.

Stand for equality.
Speak with your actions.
Whatever a person’s race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, physical ability or other characteristic, we respect and value them. We know that building a greater understanding of our differences makes us stronger.

Embrace freedom.
Press, speech, beliefs.
Free speech, a free press and freedom of beliefs are vital to a healthy democracy. That’s why we commit our full weight and resources to support our reporters wherever they operate.

Make a difference.
Impact your world.
This defines who we are, both as a company and as individuals. We can each make a difference in our communities and for the people around us.

Blessy’s Answer

At Cisco(the #1 World’s Best Workplace), we have worked hard to build a culture of full-spectrum diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.

It’s part of our core values:

1. To connect everything: Shape our business for the future

2. Innovate everywhere: Set the pace for tomorrow

3. Benefit everyone: Bring our best and win together

These core values guide us as a company and demand that we take a stand against actions that threaten the equal rights, safety and dignity of our people, both inside our company and in the communities where they live.

These values are also part of Our People Deal. Our People Deal is basically a contract that articulates what the company expects from its employees, and what they can expect from Cisco. It encourages employees to bring their whole selves to work and to create an environment of trust and mutual respect – an environment where our integrity defines and leads us. Where we say what needs to be said and hold ourselves accountable.

Blessy recommends the following next steps:

Marie’s Answer

SAP's purpose is to help the world run better and improve people's lives. We deliver the technological innovations that help our customers run at their best, both for their economic prospects and also through their contribution to society.

SAP software powers a lot of great enterprises all over the world who do important work in breaking down economic barriers, creating new jobs, water conservation, sustainable agriculture, promoting diversity, getting girls involved in STEAM, fighting Covid-19 (e.g. through partnering with the German government for their Corona-Warn-App), and countless other examples, some of which you can check out at the links below.

As an intern, I find that there's a lot of focus on breaking down barriers within the company, too. I'm always encouraged to share my perspective in my team, which I appreciate as a young woman in tech. I work with a diverse team of colleagues all over the world, and I've learned a lot about the joys of working with people who approach matters from their own unique worldview. I'm not saying that sarcastically, either - although navigating time zones can be a pain!

As employees, we also have freedom to question the way we do things and ask how we can improve ourselves as individuals and as a company. We're willing to experiment with the way we work and we don't let failure hold us back. Our leaders hold open discussions with employees and although they can't satisfy everyone, I believe they try their best to be compassionate and accountable for their actions.
