Hi Omar,

Every job has it's fun and stress part. A teacher can be as stressful as a medical doctor. I will say if you really want to be a medical doctor, go for it. If you found that being a medical doctor is not what you want, you may still change your career after that. For example, pharmaceutical company often require some people who has clinical knowledge to analyze some medicine for them, or go to research field. You will have a lot of options. Good luck.

Hi Omar!

I would offer this perspective: what about being a doctor is interesting to you? Why do you want to pursue this? You need to spend some time thinking through this to decide if the inevitable stress of the profession is worth it to your career. No one else can answer that for you.

From your question, I gather that you are very concerned about the cost/benefit of the student loans, which is considerable for a medical degree. However, there are other ways to accomplish a medical degree without that amount of debt - the military is one of them (see https://militarybenefits.info/military-medical-school/).

The path won't be easy whichever you choose. So make sure you're choosing for your core values so you can persevere through the difficult parts. Best of luck!
