What type of jobs are expected to experience a lot of growth in the near future?

Hi Nathan!

It's great to see that you're thinking ahead about what occupations will have the highest growth rate in the future! The US Bureau of Labor Statistics has this chart based on data from 2019 about the 20 highest growth occupations (by percent growth) here: https://www.bls.gov/ooh/fastest-growing.htm. You can also check out the highest growth occupations (by number of new jobs) here: https://www.bls.gov/emp/tables/occupations-most-job-growth.htm.

Something to be aware of is many of the highest growth occupations by percentage currently have a smaller number of individuals working in those fields, thus it may look like there is a lot of growth by percent, but there aren't actually that many new jobs.

Personally I see AI this, AI that, AI everywhere.
The pandemic has forced a new perspective in how we do almost everything from communication, to work space, and even travel. I would definitely look into what you might want to explore in this arena.

Nathan, while various industries grow and shrink over time, I think the one area that will consistently grow is technology. An added bonus is that technology is now important to almost every company today so technology skills are easily applicable to any type of company or market. Opportunities in technology including coding, support, and engineering.
