[closed] How can you help yourself learn Spanish faster and at a fluent level?

Hello,

My name is Aimee and I love learning about business topics just as much as any other accounting, finance, management, or marketing major. Personally, my preference is towards management since it is my major. I hope to get into office management and make myself competitive by being able to read, write, and speak Spanish. The degree that I have is an associate's in business administration, and I am aiming to complete a bachelor's degree soon. I live in Texas and closer to Mexico, so I figured I would brush up on my old Spanish knowledge from high school classe and a couple of college classes. Unfortunately there is not anyone around me who speaks it fluently and at at the rate of native speakers. What steps should I take to become more natural and better at speaking Spanish?

Thank you for your suggestion(s). #communications #communication #spanish #linguistics

Hi Aimee,
I'm originally from Germany and learned English in School, 5 years ago I moved to an English speaking country and had the same problem. The language skills in School are most of the times not enough to use it on a professional level. Even before I moved I found it very helpful to watch films and listen to audio books with different accents to get used to different use of the language and learn new words. To really get fluent I find the best way is to speak. Find native speaker and have a conversation. You will find lots of groups online, a conversation via Skype could work as well if no Spanish speaker is around. Ask them to correct your grammar and to help you with wording.
I tried very hard to get rid of my German accent when speaking English. Some words are harder to pronounce since you won't have the sounds in your language and you keep tripping over them. Record yourself when speaking. You can listen back to yourself and when you notice a word that you find difficult or have problems pronouncing, just practice until it becomes more natural.

Hope you find this helpful.
