What is the salary that you have?

I would like to be a trainer and would not mind being an educator for kids because I would not like to work with adults. #helping-others #trainer #physical-trainer #hospital #educator #rn

Hi Nate,

I am challenged by your comments after your question about not wanting to teach adults. I am in corporate training and I train people 18 years old and older. Working in a business rather than for public schools can mean a better salary sometimes. Additional education beyond a Bachelor's degree can help you make more money as well. The final factor that I would call out is where you live. Salaries for the same job vary widely by geography.

You should also consider what you want to teach. Some subjects have a higher demand, like the STEM classes. If you would in corporate America, you would not really be focusing on a subject but more so learning principles. My job requires me to teach whatever subject that is needed, usually a topic related to someone's job role at a company. There is no possible way for me to be a subject-matter expert in every job. However, I can be a subject-matter expert training. What content would be best in video? What is better in leader-led? I also need to know what the differences are in teaching adults over children. There are few differences at the end of the day there. What I find with adults is if they do not understand why they are learning something or how they can start using it right now, they will not want to learn. In my work, there is a focus on "Just in Time" training. They get the training just in time to be able to use that knowledge in their job.

I hope that you do teach, no matter what age group. Teachers are some of the most valuable people we have in our lives. You can really make an impact on someone.

What you make varies. you will inevitably make more money if you work with adults than if you work with kids. If money is what you are only concerned about then training may not be a good fit for you. Most trainers do not get into the field unless they enjoy watching and supporting others to be successful

Take a look at the US Bureau of Labor Statistics web page. Information specifically for students is here: https://www.bls.gov/k12/students/

You can click through on individual professions / experience levels / location to get exactly the data that you want. And, it will help you build graphs and maps if you need to include those in your report. It is also a citation if you need citations.
