Katie’s Answer

I would pick a career that you enjoy. There are many different careers in accounting that could be right with your strengths. Since you received an A in computer science, Accounting Information Systems might be the career path you want to take. Your grades should not stop you from pursuing an area you enjoy. I think if you like a certain area, take classes in it and good grades will follow since you enjoy what you are learning. You want a career that you enjoy want like doing your job.

Peter’s Answer

Your grades appear to be generally good, Maureen. But you should not choose a career simply based upon your grades. Ideally, you enter a career that you are specifically interested. In my own case, I took numerous classes my Freshman and Sophomore year. I had a Biology class that was particularly interesting and relevant to me. I therefore chose to major in Biology and concentrated in that Field for my Junior and Senior years. (I ended up with a career in Civil Engineering/Water Resources, but that is another story. The important point is that I pursued a career that deeply interested me.)

It's great that you are able to excel in all these different subjects, however you should also consider what you are most passionate about. It is my belief that your career should be your passion and that will not only yield monetary success but also inner happiness.

Madeline (Maddie)’s Answer

Although achievement in school is important and can play a role in choosing a career, grades are not the end-all-be-all of determining a career path. Think about how you are feeling as you are in those classes - does it excite you to complete a math problem? Are you fascinated by computers? Are you looking forward to your next biology class? Try to find an area that is exciting to you and that does not feel like work. Also, know that your career is not set in stone. You can always switch career paths down the road if you find something more interesting.
