Nadeem’s Answer

Hey Akshat,

From my personal experience, the most promising and secure jobs right now are into Cloud Computing or Cloud based solutions. They are easy to get into , fun to work in and anyone from different backgrounds can learn these solutions as there is so much easy learning materials online to become an expert(certified). Jobs for these solutions have high demand across the global.

For example: 'Salesforce' is a cloud based CRM platform (#1 in the world) offering a high variety of cloud based digital solutions to various clients across the global and industry. Due to the current economic situation caused by Covid and to make business resilient for survival in the coming years, businesses are investing a lot into digital transformations of their operations to allow firms to run as usual in any given crisis. Here cloud based platforms like Salesforce are playing a huge role in a firm's digital transformation. To implement and adopt Salesforce based solutions, firms need Salesforce skilled experts - like developers, solution architects, administrators, consultants etc that are certified in Salesforce technology. Their demand is forecasted to grow for the next 10 years and these skilled experts are not easy to replace as they would specialize into understanding a firm's business requirements and implement their needs via the Salesforce solutions available. A lot of time and effort is invested once a Salesforce expert is hired by a firm therefore replacing someone is not preferable.

Salesforce is just one platform, you have Amazon and their cloud based solutions where there is an equal if not more demand for experts in that platform.

Hope this advise helps!

Serena’s Answer

Hi Akshat,

The most promising career will change every year and even if we manage to predict what is the most promising one in the next 5 years,
it will still change eventually.
Thus the most important point to discover your own interest,
hone your skillset and establish what you want to be in the long term.
There is also an increasing trend of people having multiple roles,
varied sources of income, so you don't necessarily need to nail it down to just 1 career path.
Study something of your interest, develop skillset that allow you to be employable in different indsutries,
and never stop investing into equipping yourself with more knowledge.
The best investment that always gives return is to invest in nurturing your own knowledge.

Good luck!
Regards,
Serena

Given the state of our world and most businesses and companies moving remote and the rise AI and Tech-based solutions, any IT related profession would be very promising. Regardless of industry times have changed and innovation of technology has become a component of almost all industries , for example banking, food, grocery, automobile, insurance or healthy they all have a technical component.

Given that there are so many options, it is possible to combine your passions and hobbies with a career; i.e. combining a passion to travel and experience the world and working in the travel industry. Think about your interests and research whether there is virtual/digital solution that meets that need for others....pursue that!
- If the solution exists, look for ways to engage and make it better.
- If the solution does not exist...this may be an opportunity to create something for yourself and others.

Mauro’s Answer

Depending on your field, you can never go wrong with as a developer. It will be continuously be on-demand until Deep Learning reaches to the point where it can automate the coding itself.

I think Robots are far fetch from ever replacing or automating like electric repair, wiring, plumbing that sort.

Dont worry about the next 5 years times change easily. People in the 1970's think in 2012 we would have had Hover Cars floating in the sky. Just 3 years ago it was released about potential commercial flying of hover cars. That is POTENTIAL and PR campaign/boosting company investment.

We have not heard much from the article since then. So dont worry about the next 5 years, just find what you love.

Definitely think about the types of topics that are often included in TED Talks or conferences: emerging tech markets (AR/VR, cloud computing, AI and robotics), sustainability (solar and wind power, electric cars). So much of our world is being transferred to digital platforms and algorithms (product distribution, sales forecasting) that you can't go wrong learning coding and computer development.
