Is it best to have a master's degree or bachelor's for civil engineering?

Some say you can get a bachelors and some technical training. But is it best to get a master's as well? #engineering #civil-engineering

From my personal experience with a long career in Civil Engineering, I advise that you move to obtain a masters degree. An advanced degree always helps to boost your career. In addition the time spent earning you masters degree usually counts in meeting the minimum years experience needed to obtain you PE License.


I strongly advise that you go the route of doing a research project and developing a masters thesis. This approach exposes you to the stimulation and discipline of tacking an original problem and developing useful results. These skills are at the heart of engineering and will serve you well through your career.

if you can get MS degree right after BS
take EIT exam in senior year asap
then join the work force
