Would minoring in Theatre be benificial if I wish to work somewhere that does not involve theatre directlly?

I've been told before that it would be beneficial and actually sought out, but I need more than one opinion. #business #nursing #acting

Thank you comment icon Hey Kayla! Great question. You tagged it with "nursing", is that the other career path you're considering pursuing? I think that would be beneficial for professionals to know when answering your question! Lindsey Manning-Djabbari

Yes , you can be an involved in theaters while you work some where else. Once you get the taste of theater and figure your area of interest you can move into it.

Angela Theresa’s Answer

If you're shy and need to practice public speaking, it could be helpful. Nevertheless, if you plan a career far away from theatre, or not related--it would probably suit you to do something more related to your chosen career.

You can not go wrong with "Business"--because even if you decide to pursue theatre, film, tv or any part of "Show Business"; at this point, Theatre minors is more for 1) those who love the performing arts, 2) for helping overcome public speaking and 3) for the fun and love of being involved with the "team spirit" that theatre gives you!
