Jeffrey’s Answer

One of the un-foreseen and common challenges in the field is and will be the amount of effort and time required to make this kind of a career long-lasting and meaningful. The hours will be very long and although things have improved slightly in terms of work-life balance this job requires a lot of detail and organization, basically you have to care about what you are doing. It will take a lot from you but if cooking and managing is something you like and are good at you can be very successful in this field. Lots of friendships and connections can be made, great experiences and traveling as well. But again; while the rest of the world, your friends and family are out having fun or going to a show or event, remember you will be at hard at work especially on the weekends and late nights. Something to keep in mind.

Emilia’s Answer

Hi Dominic, I hope you are doing great,

Well, I think the most difficult thing to deal with in a kitchen is the pressure. There are lots of people working in a tiny place and everything has to run smoothly for every single dish to be hot and flawless before it leaves the kitchen but not everything goes always as planned so it can get frustrating sometimes. Communication is very very important, as it is a teamwork it is very important to speak up and always express yourself.

The best way to deal with stressing jobs is passion, if you absolutely love what you do there is nothing you can't go through.

Don't be afraid, enjoy this new stage of your life and show everyone what you can do!
Congratulations and good luck!
