5. Human Resources
I decided to go into Business Operations since operations touches almost every facet of the organization. I enjoy the different challenges and operations also gives me the flexibility to try new things. Another great aspect about operations is they usually support the other divisions of an organization. Since, there are many divisions of an company if you do not enjoy one area its not a big deal since you can support other areas of the business.
Many larger companies will start you in a rotational analyst program. By doing this you will get to see usually 2-4 different sections of the business. Companies offer this to not only help you hone in on your career path but many companies have realized that if there employees actually enjoy their job they will get better overall performance.
Over the next few summers I would intern at some different companies and try out multiple business fields to help you narrow down your passions in business. Hope this helps and good luck on the journey!
Your curiosity will serve you well -- best of luck to you!
I think Business is a great option and gives you a lot of flexibility depending on what your preferences are. You can choose a certain industry that you like (IT, Automotive, Hospitality) and also as mentioned above you can touch many different areas that aren't exclusive among them. You can choose to specialize in one of them or move around two or more.
There is great advice and inside to some of the areas from the above comments. I can tell you that it is very broad and that even within the same function, you will see big differences among the different areas. In Finance you can have extremely structured and process-oriented jobs as well as very creative and uncertain environments.
Hope that helps you. All the best!
