If Im not sure what I want to do for my major what is the best way to help me find my interests?

Hi Andrew!
Consider the classes, activities, and hobbies that excite you most and see if they apply to any available careers. You can also meet with a high school college career counselor to see what careers align with your hobbies and activities. You could also look up online career tests to see if any of those spark your interest. Ask the parents of your friends what they do or what they wish they could do and why. Additionally, you could see if any of those parents would let you shadow them for a day to see what they do. Be sure to sign up for a diverse set of classes before you graduate high school to see what's out there -- don't just follow your friends!
Don't fear! We learn about ourselves as we experience new things, and you can always change your major after you're in college.

Join some groups or clubs that you may have a small interest in. Just start somewhere! Read all about a topic that sparks you and keep at it for a few weeks or months. Sooner or later, you will run across something that really speaks to you and you can then focus energy on that topic or skill. Always ask questions, be willing to learn and share your knowledge with others. Take risks. You got this!

Below are my suggestions :
1. Think about your hobbies and favorite subjects and identify the related careers
E.g. If you are interested in Maths, would you like to be an accountant, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
2. Find out more on these careers and identify what career you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 career you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in the college

You have plenty of time to decide so no rush! I would start by thinking what your ideal life style looks like. Do you want to work 8, 12, 16 hours a day? Do you want to have a ton of responsibility? What type of lifestyle (income, travel, etc)? From there I would narrow down careers that that match your desired life style. To do this, I would look at day in the life videos on youtube and research online to see how intense the job is day to day. Additionally, you could look at the expected monthly income and build a potential budget for what your life could look like with that job. After that, I would start to prioritize jobs you think you would be good at and researching them to find out what you like, which interest you the most, and what do you need to get there. After all this you will have ideal career path that matches your desired lifestyle. With that being said, you can ALWAYS change your career and pivot throughout your career. Nothing is ever set in stone and you can always switch jobs!
