What is the best way to manage my time in high school?1) What is the best way to manage my time in high school? 2) What are some good internships I should look into in high school? 3) Who should I send my resume and cover letter to?

It's for a job from my workplace class, and apart from that I would like to know a little more about this.

Mikael’s Answer

For me it always started with a list, something that we all do intuitively, but putting it down on paper always gave it more meaning to me.
Then you assign time values associated with each task, or item, on the list. This was invaluable to me when going to college and even more so when I started my first job.
The second most important thing is to forecast what you will need to accomplish or account for. Another thing that helped me in college and my first job and again probably something most of do in our minds.
So make a list and then decide how much time is needed to accomplish the items in this list.

1. The best way to manage your time would be to start with a list, like Mikael mentioned. When creating the list I would list down what are the important things that you need to do, and then slowly go down to see what are the least important items. This can help prioritize the items you need to accomplish over the ones you don't. HOWEVER, as a disclaimer, I would try to find a mix of important things to do, and some of the other items that aren't as important (i.e. hobbies, sports), you want to have a balance of fun and seriousness. You can't properly function with just constant work, you need to find time for something that you enjoy as well.

2. For internships, it depends on what kind of career you want to have. Some internships can help more towards a certain job expertise. You probably want to think about what you want to accomplish in life and find a internship based on that.

3. This question is a little vague. If you mean who to send it to in order to check to see if it efficient and works, I would try asking the school advisor for help. They typically have advice for students. There are also online resources where you can submit it for feedback as well, though I normally prefer in person. Teachers are usually open about checking resume's, though they might not be the most proficient about it.
