It's wonderful that you're curious about my journey to becoming a dietician nutritionist. It all started with my bachelor's degree from Griffiths University in Brisbane, Australia. After three years there, I bravely took on an additional MSC qualifying year at the University of Queensland, where I also served as a tutoring laboratory supervisor.
In 1986, I was thrilled to be accepted into the Queensland University of Technology to study for a postgraduate diploma in nutrition and dietetics. Fast forward 35 years, and I've been practicing as a dietician ever since.
I've had the privilege of working for three state health departments, starting with NSW where I covered 12 hospitals and visited community health centers. This role allowed me to observe and influence dietary behaviors in the region.
After that, I moved to Brisbane and established the Brisbane Weight Control Clinic in private practice. I worked closely with doctors, helping patients manage their weight. Then, I took on a well-paying role in Port Hedland, WA as the regional dietitian.
My journey took a turn when my wife found a job opportunity in Roma, eastern Australia. This role was demanding, involving a visiting contractor position with 16 hospitals and a contract with the Aboriginal health in the region. It was a busy time, consulting clients during the day and developing nutrition software at night.
After Roma, I worked from the Gold Coast for Biomedicals, writing medical reporting software capable of producing 500-page PDF files in just an hour. I also consulted for a company aiding war refugees in Europe, where I developed a nutritional rescue formula.
In recognition of my volunteer work, I was gifted a Dell Inspiron 16 laptop worth $3000. To this day, I continue to write nutrition software, and plan to do so for as long as I can.
In my day there were no course fees. Of course that has changed! Doing a medicine degree could cost $250,000 which is sad. Google Search on "how to get a scholarship for university study in the usa."

2. Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT score)
3. Photo ID/Passport (Aadhar card in certain cases)
4. Language proficiency proof (IELTS, or TOEFL exam score)
