Hi, Alaric
Being an online merchant can be an exciting activity. From my experience as an online consumer, here are some of the elements I would envision in a business that sells online: - \
- a website to advertise and collect payment for merchandise
- agreements with various vendors to ensure that you are able to buy a special wholesale prices
- an inventory repository or 'drop/ship' agreements with vendors to handle shipments and returns
- accounting system to handle payments and refunds and also manage tax reporting to the states in which your product is sold
- occasional use of tax account and attorney
-an advertising budget. This is IMPORTANT, as there are so many online companies that you may need help from a company that specializes in helping get a website known to prospective customers.

From the above, I envision that much of your involvement will be on the computer. I wish you well.

James Constantine’s Answer

Hey Alaric!

Just wanted to answer your question about my role as an online merchant. Do I take a hands-on approach or am I more digitally inclined when it comes to the products I sell?

Well, I lean more towards the digital side of things, having been immersed in software development since 1972. Currently, I'm not selling my nutrition education services or software, but I plan to do so in the near future. I'm passionate about helping people overcome health challenges through advanced nutrition, and I share free E-books to aid in this cause. I'm not driven by greed - I offer my services free of charge for now, though I might charge a nominal fee of a dollar for my software, a labor of love that's taken me 29 years to develop.

The proceeds I earn will be directed towards helping the homeless and various charities. I'm also planning to embark on long-distance tricycle rides, hoping to secure sponsorships from large corporations. The goal is to support wonderful foundations like Beyond Blue, The Schizophrenia Foundation, and The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

I have reached the ripe old age of 66!

May your efforts be blessed in the best way possible!

Take care,
James.
