DENNIS’s Answer

Hi Alivia: Most difficult part of being a lawyer? Losing a case! You get attached to most clients - most of the time - and when you lose it really stinks. It sticks with you for a long time. Being a lawyer is more than putting your brain in a case; it's also putting your heart in a case. You believe in the cause you are fighting for - whether it's a civil case or a criminal case. Losing that case stinks!
There is a ton of work that goes into being a lawyer. I did Civil litigation. I'd have to learn all sorts of stuff for each case. You have to learn why the accident happened and why it was not your client's fault. Then you had to learn a ton of medical stuff. You have to understand the medicine to question a doctor.
Then there is the writing. Motions and appeals and memos and all sorts of stuff. This stuff is creative and hard to do some times.
Bottom line: You will love it. There are enough challanges and rewards to make it all worth your time and effort! Good luck!
Law school - great time. Lots of work but you form friendships that last a lifetime!

Job’s Answer

Law school is nothing like being an attorney. It only prepares you to pass the bar exam.
The most difficult part of being a successful attorney is knowing all the intricacies of your field of law which takes years.
Additionally I was a successful trial attorney and preparing for the next day after being in court all day is draining.

Baljit’s Answer

Hi Alivia,
I found that the excessive reading of cases and statutes were the most difficult for me, I also found some of the electives, such as another language, was difficult and remote at times. But otherwise it also was a great experience for life lessons learnt
