Hi Karsyn!
My best advice to prepare for college is to:
Keep your grades up and take courses related to the career you are interested in
Get involved and get hands-on experience in the career you are interested in:
Job shadow
volunteer
internship
part-time job
summer camp
club/organization
Ask for help!
Talk to your counselor and teachers
Talk to your parents about your goals
The more you can explore careers in high school the better you will be able to make a decision about what you want to do in college
I hope this helps!

Look into colleges that have the programs that interest you. A community College may be a good place to start they're cheaper than a university. Check if you can transfer them to another place if needed. Also that they would accept the credits. I became a Registered nurse from my local community College. When I applied for a job I wasn't asked what college I attended but if I passed my boards exam and had my license. Talk with your parents and guidance counselor about what you want to study. If you are not sure write a list of what you enjoy doing. Do you enjoy helping others, cooking, teaching? If you find something you want to study. Look for a club/ organization ,internship, or any area that you can volunteer in the area of what you want to study. Keep up with your grades. Look into what it will cost to go. I worked full-time and went to college at night until I was accepted into the program and fulfilled my prerequisites. They're are only a few spots in the program that I attended. It may be different for you. Look into it each college is different. Good luck and I hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your perspective.
