T.J.’s Answer

Hello Bo!

It's interesting... I feel this feeling is very common among a lot of people.

First of all, I will say:

It is okay if you feel stupid.

We all do. Students in high school. Students in college, Adults in different work industries.
When we're learning new things, we criticize and "beat up" ourselves for simply...not knowing.

Even though you feel stupid - it doesn't mean you 𝘢𝘳𝘦 stupid.

If you don't know enough about something, or aren't great with academics in general...

You are still likely smart and good at something. Maybe with skills or talents that no one else has.

So, don't put yourself down. You can still be an awesome person.

Maybe you already are.

Maybe you could view it from that mindset :D

Sending you encouragement with viewing yourself from a new perspective :)

Cassandra’s Answer

Hi Bo!

How I see it, being smart comes with time, exposure, and experience. An important thing is to be patient and curious to learn new things!

Another thing is to practice! This would apply most in school. Repetition and practice will help you remember things better and for longer, since sometimes we learn something and forget it soon after. It does not make you stupid!

Also asking questions is always good. There are no stupid questions!

James Constantine’s Answer

Hi Bo,

Want to know how to boost your smarts?

Becoming smart is a blend of different aspects, including your intelligence, knowledge, ability to think critically, and your commitment to ongoing learning. Here's how you can enhance your intelligence and boost your smartness:

1. Never Stop Learning: A powerful way to boost your smarts is by never stopping your learning journey. Dive into books, enroll in courses, attend talks, and delve into new subjects that pique your interest. The more knowledge you soak up, the sharper your intellect becomes.

2. Think Critically: Critical thinking skills are a must for smartness. Scrutinize information, question what's taken for granted, weigh the evidence, and look at things from different angles before forming your views or making decisions. This approach helps you tackle problems effectively and make informed judgments.

3. Keep Your Curiosity Alive: Curiosity is a hallmark of the intelligent. Stay inquisitive about the world, ask questions, hunt for answers, and explore fresh ideas. This curiosity sparks learning and fuels your intellectual growth.

4. Push Your Boundaries: To enhance your intelligence, consistently challenge yourself. Step beyond your comfort zone, take on tough tasks, solve intricate problems, and push yourself to pick up new skills. Overcoming hurdles boosts your cognitive skills and widens your intellectual horizons.

5. Live Healthily: Your physical health plays a big part in your cognitive function. Ensure you're getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet packed with brain-boosting nutrients, and managing stress effectively. Your physical wellbeing directly influences your mental sharpness and overall cognitive performance.

6. Join Intellectual Conversations: Seek out intellectually stimulating discussions and debates. Engaging with others who have different viewpoints can broaden your understanding, introduce you to fresh ideas, and hone your intellect.

7. Embrace Mindfulness: Mindfulness techniques like meditation can enhance focus, concentration, and cognitive skills. By training your mind to stay present and focused, you can boost your mental clarity and problem-solving abilities.

8. Set Clear Goals: Set clear targets for your intellectual growth and development. Whether it's becoming proficient in a new skill, gaining knowledge in a specific area, or boosting your critical thinking skills, having goals provides direction and motivation to keep striving for better.

By weaving these strategies into your everyday life and mindset, you can foster intelligence, boost your cognitive skills, and gradually become smarter.
