What educational/work background is required for Electrical Overhead Construction??

Currently, I am in material handling, facilities maintenance, and office administration. After my completion of these courses, I will be attending advanced training for Electrical Overhead Construction. Any additional comments/information would be appreciated!

Don’s Answer

If you are looking to become a Journeyman Lineman, then you need to enter the apprenticeship program and work with a company that does the line work on overhead power lines. Your schooling should give you credit towards your apprenticeship training depending on accreditation. Usually an Associate Degree or a Bachelor Degree will eliminate some of your schooling needed, but you still need hours as an apprentice lineman to complete everything and to earn your journeyman lineman. This all has to do the working on the overhead power lines.
If you are just looking to do engineering design for overhead power lines, then you need to find a engineering firm that does that kind of work, and work with them.
