Ravi’s Answer

Everyday is different however, I do keep in mind our roadmap based on goals, expectations and expected deliverables which I revisit every time along the journey. I generally spend my time in meeting with my team or the business to understand their hiring requirements, ensure we have a strategy, review historical data and market insights to help make better decisions. What I like best about this role is that it gives me the opportunity to think outside the box, identify process improvements and be able to add value to tangible outcomes. And working with talented and creative people daily who are passionate about their work. Most of the time, we have to pivot, stay agile, show resilience while navigating from one projects to another. And in the end, to see the value that we have added to the business, our ability to bring top talents to the organization within set targets (time, quality, skills,...) and the overall impact we made to talent attraction and engagement, it what I would define as success in the role.

Truly hope this provides a picture of the role and its impact. All the best

A Talent Director's work life typically revolves around managing recruitment and staffing processes, talent development, and strategic planning within an organization. They work standard office hours, but flexibility is required for tasks such as conducting interviews with candidates from different time zones and attending networking events outside regular hours. Talent Directors also play a strategic role in aligning staffing initiatives with the organization's goals, collaborating with senior management to forecast long-term talent needs. Administrative duties, like budgeting and compliance, are integrated into their routine. Additionally, remote work and digital recruitment platforms provide flexibility in managing global talent efforts. Overall, this role involves a dynamic blend of responsibilities that require adaptability and effective time management skills.

Embarking on the path to lead a Talent Acquisition team is an exciting adventure. Typically, you'll start your journey as a Recruiter and progressively ascend from there. With two decades of experience in Recruitment, I now have the privilege of guiding an Executive Recruiting team for a prominent Tech firm. My days are dynamic and bustling, filled with back-to-back meetings.

I frequently engage with our company's Executives, assisting them in hiring for key leadership roles within our organization. The remainder of my day is packed with team meetings and candidate interviews. It brings me great joy to aid my company in tackling challenging issues and in recruiting outstanding individuals who will form the future leadership of our company.

I believe it's crucial to be fervent about your work and to cultivate a reputation for discerning excellence in candidates. Be selective and excel in the fundamentals of your role - my Manager often reminds us - mastering the minor tasks paves the way to success in the major ones.
