Hi Janelle,

I am assuming that you are mainly interested in a career as special agent with the FBI. You find eligibility criteria here:

fbijobs.gov

There is a whole list of requirements from physical fitness to tax compliance, but the educational requirement is a bachelors degree (in anything) and 2 years of work experience. You don't need to be a cop.

Also, there are lots of other career opportunities with the FBI. They would bring samples from all kinds of crime scenes that need to be analyzed. So, they'll have chemists, physicists, microscopists, soil scientists, biologists, medical professions etc.

They'll have computer scientists and people who speak different languages so they can understand what is being said in a surveillance case.

They would also have "normal" professions like admin assistants, HR people, finance people, purchasing etc.

So, if you are interested in other careers with the FBI, have a look at the website.

Good luck!

Janelle,

fbijobs.gov which is cited above is the official FBI website. The website cited in the other post belongs to a private individual, and, may not have the most current information.

There are all sorts of things to do in the FBI! Take some time exploring the website. It has a cool interactive tool to help you determine where'd you best fit in!

Also, remember to do everything to keep your background check untarnished. That means paying bills timely, not taking on too much debt, not associating with the criminal element, etc. And work on physical fitness. Strength, endurance, and flexibility. It's very rigorous!!

Best of luck!
