How do I know if my major of choice is right for me?

Right now I'm somewhat torn between majors. Depending on what school I attend I will choose a different major. Illinois Tech is my number one school right now, and seems to be the school I will most likely attend, and I'll be studying architecture. The field has always interested me and I've always wanted to be involved in the design process of buildings, but I don't know what to expect from the field of study/work. How will I know if this is for me?

Hey Jacob! I know choosing your major can be a tedious process, but many schools will allow you to switch majors even after you declare if you feel that you made a wrong choice. The best way to know more about the major would be to explore your major's (or department's website) and see what all courses they offer. You can also reach out to the professors and ask them questions about their classes or the major to find out more information.

Choosing a major can be difficult, but I recommend taking some elective courses in the major your thinking about doing. That way you could get an idea if it’s the right major for you. Hope this helps thanks.
