Cary’s Answer

Hello Abraham,

Firstly, let's focus on discovering something that truly ignites your passion. It could be anything from a hobby you love, like collecting trading cards, or even a sport you enjoy. Next, identify areas within that hobby where you can make a difference. For instance, if you're into trading cards, you may have noticed how they tend to bend easily. Why not find a solution to prevent this? By transforming your hobby into your business, you'll be investing in something you genuinely care about. This will make your work feel less like a chore and more like a labor of love. Remember, when you love what you do, success follows. I hope this advice encourages you on your journey.

Mei’s Answer

Abraham, to care is to take personal interest in someone or something.

As a student, I'm happy to see that you want to make sure that you show 'care' in everything that you do when you become a businessman. This means that you're in business not only for profit alone but because you want to truly make a difference in the lives of others.

Personally, I see care in businesses around me when I see the 4Es in their products and/or services -- (i) effectiveness, (ii) efficiency, (iii) experience, and (iv) ESG / sustainability.

Am I getting an effective product? Does it do what it promises?

When I need help on the product / service I purchased, am I getting efficient support?

What is my overall experience in dealing with the brand? Is it giving me the wow-feeling and do I want to purchase from them again? Or do I say 'never again'?

Do they care about sustainability? How are they in relation to environmental, social, and governance goals?

To succeed, care is important. Clients / customers will seek out your business if they feel that you truly care for them -- if you are truly interested in giving them the best you can offer and that they deserve.

All the best!

Maria’s Answer

You ask a great question! While some might not directly link caring to business success, being caring and empathetic are invaluable assets in the business world. Here are 2 ways of developing these qualities can prepare you for your future as a business leader:

1. Caring implies wanting to understand others' needs and perspectives. This translates well to building strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and employees. By actively listening and showing genuine interest, you can foster trust, collaboration, and loyalty.

2. A caring leader fosters a positive and supportive work environment where people feel valued and respected. This leads to increased motivation, engagement, and productivity. Happy employees are more likely to go the extra mile and contribute their best work.

You can practice this while still in high school! You can build strong relationships when collaborating on projects. You can also participate in volunteer activities
where you practice making people feel valued and respected.

Good luck with your goals!

Great question Abraham - there's some great answers here already.
In addition I would suggest trying to build up your empathy skills. Understanding others, and trying to walk in their shoes, will help you to care about them and to appreciate what is important for them.
There's a great Ted Talk on the subject that i would recommend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBxivwUuzQM&pp=ygUNYnVpbGQgZW1wYXRoeQ%3D%3D

thank you

I absolutely love this question!

Becoming more caring is a fantastic goal, especially for someone aspiring to enter the world of business. Caring leaders often create stronger teams, build better relationships, and create a positive work environment that drives success.

Focus on developing emotional intelligence to understand others' feelings and perspectives. Practice active listening and patience to build strong, supportive relationships. Engage in volunteer work to broaden your empathy, and seek feedback to improve your interpersonal skills. Remember, caring for yourself is also key to being able to care for others effectively. These steps will not only make you a better future businessman but also contribute positively to any team or organization you are part of.
