Hello,
I am an illustrator and artist, so from first-hand experience, I can tell you that strong drawing skills are a must. Patience is also key because animation is not a 2-hour process. Learning how to draw from references is a skill that needs to be honed as well.

Take the hard route, and the long one. Whichever comics or anime or games you follow take inspiration from those, clone it. Once you learn the drawing part, now you can concentrate on giving your drawings life. Learn the 7 principles of animation, note it down. Follow those steps on your paper before starting on a digital platform. You got your first animation right there. Land on a digital platform, I'd suggest a software named 'Opentoonz' which is free and very efficient for animation. Get your hands dirty, explore the software and different techniques. Of course you can learn other software like After effects. I'd suggest to learn frame-by-frame animation at the first place, because it is still the classic one. Once you have your first digital animation, post it on your social media no matter how good or bad it is, you can watch it back after a few years and help yourself to see your progress. Eventually you'll learn different software both 2D and 3D and you'll grow and your skill will skyrocket. All the best I hope you will make us proud someday.
