Tamara’s Answer

There are lots of certifications out there for this, such as on LinkedIn. It helps to have a network of peers in some cases, but better to establish yourself as an SME as usually people will look to you for advice and information. For example, some SEO Copywriters focus upon AI or internet security topics. Others focus on things like Bitcoin trading or even hobbies and other more personal topics of interest. A personal website helps, and gives you the space to showcase your work in one place when looking for jobs that ask for samples. You'll probably be accessed and take multiple interviews for some of the jobs, many of which indeed turn out to be scams. The more you know, the more likely you will have work. That said, you can get burned out learning all the time, and as such empathetic readers will as well.

Tamara recommends the following next steps:

Establish yourself in a network of peers and look to join related groups in social media
Consider getting certifications to boost your reputation
Look for work that's verifiable and recognized by social community
Keep your portfolio ready for job search efforts
