If you want to teach music i believe that you are required to have a bachelor's degree. If you look on some sites they may offer online courses. I would first look into a school that fits your needs of what you like and then do comparisons of other schools.

I recommend post production or game audio, though both industries have recently been rocked.
Also, youre competing with obsession so expect to grind if you want this as a career.
I believe that effective teachers need to have real world experience and accolades, but I could be wrong.

You could look into a career as a music therapist. This field blends the passion for music and teaching with the satisfaction of serving in the healthcare field. And it’s most definitely a viable career path.

I've known people who've earned advanced degrees, and ended up with with teaching gigs in college.
I know those whose wives\partners have been a source of steady income.
Another possibility is to become someone in demand. This takes a combination of ability and political savvy.
