Hi Chidera,
Love your motivation and that you're thinking about your growth! Sharing some tips below:
1. Before you can grow, you have to excel at whatever work you are doing. Performing your best and hitting your goals at your current role are often requirements before promotions or senior roles.
2. Continuously learn, in line with what you want to be in or grow into, who/what can you seek out? Is there someone in the role that you want already at your company? If so, do a coffee chat with them, ask for feedback on what it takes to be successful in the role you want and how they prepared to get there. Are there books or courses you can benefit from that help you improve your skills or gain the ones you need for the next role you want.
3. Even when doing well, continue to ask your leadership what areas you can improve in. They love that and it shows you are committed and dedicated to your progress. Apply what they recommend.
4. Most of the time you have to already be doing the job you want to an extent before you're officially promoted, see what opportunities you can take on top of your current role to show that you are capable. Just be careful to not let progress slip in your current role while looking too far to the future.
5. Lastly make it known to your leadership that you want to grow into X role, this way they keep you in mind and you're considered when the opening comes up.
Hope this helps!
