Can I become a construction worker without a diploma?

Hello my name is Armando and I am interested in joining construction. Can you tell me the pros and cons about construction . I want to do this job because my dad is in construction and I wondered if I can join as well. That’s why I’m interested I heard they pay tons of money. Another question I have is if you get payed weekly or monthly because I want to know when I get money for groceries and rent or things for my self. Well that’s all I wanted to know.
