My personal and professional mission is to expand access to midwifery care in order to narrow health disparities, decrease the low-risk cesarean delivery rate, and reduce severe, preventable maternal events through high-quality, patient-centered care. This occurs as patients leave their encounter in all settings feeling educated and empowered, prioritizing the importance of a shared role in their health. Over my 7 years in Women’s Health, specific interests include low-intervention birth, hands-on labor support, the shared decision-making process, teaching, and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
