My name is Kevin Culp and I am currently working as in customer service for AT&T Directv. I have a degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering but wasn't having any luck finding a job in my field after graduating. I settled in to life working at Directv and never left. I do have aspirations myself to become a student again and eventually find a career in my field. I plan on going back to school within the next year for a Masters in Software Engineering.

What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?
I wish that when I was younger someone had convinced me to not settle for a job outside of my field. As much as I realize that it was necessary to get work regardless of where after I graduated I let myself settle into the job and not pursue a career in the field I went to school for. By the time I tried to put effort into finding a job in my field it had been so long since I graduated that people wouldn't consider me. I have no complaints with working for AT&T, but it is tough to find a job as an engineer when I graduated nearly 8 years ago and my only real work experience is customer service.
