What is the most useful piece of career advice you got as a student, and who gave it to you?

My most useful piece of career advice as a student is "learn something new every day"! Learning new things has enhanced my career in technology. Strong work ethics and learning new things has helped increased my salary with benefits as well as taught me to become a strong leader in a field that was distant to me as a 50 year old.

When did you get your first Big Break? How did you get it? How did it go?

I got my first break working as a front desk auditor at a hotel in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I was recruited and introduced to the wireless industry in 2012. Since that break, I have traveled to several states as well as worked for 2 different companies doing something that i love and get paid well to do it.

When you were a student, did you do anything outside of school to build skills or get knowledge that has helped your career?

As a student, I was unemployed for several years. I volunteered with several programs in the community. I wanted to practice and develop my work skills while out of work. These best practices has helped me tremendously.
