Many roles often require some form of keen understanding of concepts like networking, Cybersecurity, Coding, Terminology and architecture etc. Often there's also some sort of education or certifications that companies are looking for when hiring someone as well as a demonstration that one knows and understands these things. This is generally known as having a specialized skillset. We tend to see jobs that require specialized skillsets are often highly compensated as well. There's also supply and demand meaning there are potentially more companies looking for this type of IT skillset than there are workers available.
