Hi Naomie,

I have experience as a restaurant manager. Below are the experiences from my time in the industry:

1. How many you earn in 1 year? This depends on location. You can look up salary ranges on Glassdoor, LinkedIn and asking ChatGPT. Be specific if you use AI, the results can be skewed.

2. What is it your task during 1 day? As a restaurant manager, my daily tasks range from managing the team schedule, ordering food/beverages to stock the restaurant, training and education from the Restaurant Association, reading resumes and conducting interviews, training new hires, managing the facilities to ensure everything is in proper working order, confirming reservations and celebrations, ordering flowers and balloons for said celebrations, managing the labor for the evening and much, much more.

3. How many pepole come in a restaureng in 1 day? This depends on the size of the restaurant. A good calculation is you want 2-3 seatings per table from open to close.

4. What is it the diffiuculty of this job? Like Dr. H said above: Long hours. The contstant walking, bending over, and more can be hard on the body so exercise and diet are very important.

5. What is the food the people like more? This also depends on location. Since I am in the United States I would say, pizza, burgers, Mexican, Sushi/Ramen (Japanese). If you look more regionally, you will find certain cuisines stand out more than others. For example: In the West, consumers tend to lean towards healthier options and Vegan/Vegetarian meals, in the Midwest consumers tend to lean towards heartier mealks like steak, potatoes and cheese dishes, in the North East, you will find consumers that prefer more ethnic cuisnes -- this is due to immigration and where people "land" when they arrive, and lastly, in the South, you will find more heavily seasoned and heartier meals like stews, casseroles and fried foods.

The restaurant world is your oyster, Naomi. YOu just have to decide if you're going to grill, bake or saute! :)

Good luck!

Dr’s Answer

Hey Naomie! So, you want to know about the daily life of a cook, chef, or restaurant manager. Let’s dive into that and add some humor while we’re at it!

What’s the Task of a Chef or Cook in One Day?

Prepping the Kitchen: A chef’s day starts way before the customers arrive. They’re prepping ingredients, making sure everything’s fresh and ready to go. It’s like assembling a huge puzzle before you start cooking.

Cooking and Managing Orders: During service hours, it’s all about getting the orders out quickly and correctly. It’s like an adrenaline rush in the kitchen. No two days are ever the same.

Cleaning and Organizing: After all the food has been served, a lot of time is spent cleaning up and organizing for the next day. This might not be the most glamorous part, but it’s essential to keep things running smoothly.

How Many People Come to a Restaurant in One Day?

It Depends on the Restaurant: A small cozy spot might have 50 people a day, while a popular or high-end restaurant could serve hundreds, especially during peak times. It’s like a mini-event every day!

What’s the Difficulty in This Job?

Long Hours and Stress: A chef or restaurant manager works long hours, especially during peak meal times. They deal with stressful situations like picky customers, kitchen mishaps, and last-minute changes.

Handling Complaints: If something goes wrong with the food (say, the soup is too salty), they’ve got to be ready to fix it fast and keep the customer happy. It’s a bit like being a superhero... but with a spatula.

What’s the Most Popular Food People Like?

Comfort Foods are a Hit: Things like pizza, burgers, pasta, and steak are always crowd-pleasers. People love classic, comforting dishes.

Trendy Foods: Recently, bowls (acai bowls, poke bowls) and fusion dishes are all the rage. If you’re making something that combines different flavors, you’ll have people intrigued!

Extra Chef Tip for You:

If you ever want to dive into the culinary world, get comfortable with multitasking, patience, and never underestimate the power of a good knife! 🍴👨‍🍳

Hope this helps! Stay hungry for knowledge and maybe a little bit of food—chefs have to eat too, right?
Thank you comment icon thank you very mutch I am very happy of your answ er but I have a other question for you do you need a diploma for began a chef or manager of restaurent.what is the difficulte to creer a restaurent Naomie
Thank you comment icon Haha, alright, love your enthusiasm! 🌟 To be a chef, you **don’t technically** need a diploma, but it helps! Many start from scratch, learning on the job. Culinary school? Gives you skills and street cred, plus who doesn't want to say they’re a "trained professional"? 🍳👨‍🍳 For a restaurant manager, you don’t *need* a degree, but it’s handy—hospitality or business background works. Managing a restaurant is like juggling flaming pans and customer complaints in a dance-off. 🕺🔥 Starting a restaurant? Buckle up! You'll need a solid plan, cash, patience, and grit (maybe some good luck, too). Start small, grow big. It’s a wild ride, but hey—if you’ve got the heart, you’ve got this! 😜 Dr H
