How will being undecided or switching majors later on affect my chances of getting a job after college?
I am a high school senior who is debating which major I should pursue. There are many areas of study I would like to go into, but I’m scared that switching will make me less employable in the future.

Kenna,
Hi there. It's perfectly normal to feel unsure when starting something new. There are many different paths you can take to reach your goals. If you're interested in science, you might start with a science major. From there, you can explore various fields like botany, pharmacy, medicine, veterinary studies, or forensics. The possibilities are endless, and it's okay to be undecided right now.
I suggest writing down what you enjoy and what you can imagine doing as a future career. Remember, take one step at a time and don't worry about the whole journey just yet. I hope this helps!

I would expect that switching majors won't be an issues to get a job. Especially of you have good reasoning for the switch.
However, you may find that your college/university makes switching majors hard especially if you have a low GPA. So it's critical to initially take classes that apply to most majors and maintain a very high GPA. So you should ask and may want to base which school to attend based on their rules for changing majors.

It's perfectly fine to be unsure about your major or to change it during college. Many people feel uncertain while discovering their strengths and passions. Changing your major is okay, and you'll eventually find the right path for you.
Focus on doing your best in college. When you're in your senior year, start applying for internships and entry-level jobs to prepare for your career after graduation. Getting involved in internships while in college can greatly improve your job prospects. Employers often look at how well you did during internships when hiring new graduates.
