Setting realistic goals for things outside of work or school can really help you succeed! Try writing down all the tasks in your head for the week. You don't have to do them all, but putting them on paper can make you feel more organized. Then, choose the ones you can or need to do that week. Also, plan for your wellbeing. Whether it's exercising three times a week or trying a new recipe, these small tasks are easy to skip but will help you reach your bigger goals in the long run.

Start by organizing your day with tools like Google Calendar or Notion, and make time-blocking a regular habit. Prioritize tasks based on importance—use the Eisenhower Matrix to identify what's urgent and what can wait. Break your day into focused work periods with the Pomodoro Technique to stay productive without burning out.

Utilize productivity tools like Trello to stay organized and Toggl to track your time. For studying or professional growth, incorporate techniques like active recall and spaced repetition for better retention. If you're mastering something new, try explaining it to someone else using the Feynman Technique to reinforce your understanding.

Remember taking care of yourself is crucial. Regular exercise, meditation, healthy eating, and adequate sleep are essential for maintaining focus and energy. Don’t overburden yourself—face challenges bravely and allow time for activities that bring you joy. Consider keeping a gratitude journal to enhance your mental well-being. Surround yourself with a strong support network, whether through mentors, peers, or study groups. Set clear boundaries and know when to say no to things that don’t align with your priorities.

Take time to regularly assess your progress. Acknowledge small achievements, adapt your goals as necessary, and remain adaptable with your schedule. Being flexible is essential for preventing burnout and keeping a balanced, sustainable routine.
Good luck!

Doing some reflection on what is most important to you will help you prioritize when things get overwhelming. Constantly checking in with yourself to assess what you feel like you're doing well in and what you feel like you're lacking can help. For example, maybe you feel like your classes are so demanding that you're lacking in social engagement- maybe there are ways you could combine the two by joining a study group or going to an on-campus presentation related to your class.

Stay flexible with yourself as your needs will change over time- what once felt like a top priority might not be later on, and it's ok to move things around in your life to accommodate your new priorities.

I recommend actively engaging in the things that you enjoy, even if you feel like you might not have the time. Even an hour or two a week doing something you really love can help you not get too caught up in your professional/educational priorities and it will allow you to feel more personal fulfillment. You deserve to have that balance!

Taking care of yourself mentally is the most important thing. Identify a few go-to strategies that help you calm down if you're feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or lacking in something. That could be taking walks, reading a non-educational book, going for a drive with music, etc. These activities can help calm your nervous system and allow for you to think about what changes you might need to make with a clearer head. If it's feeling hard to balance everything, that overwhelm will put you in a freeze mode which will ultimately make things work. Identify the strategies that work for you early on to try and break any negative stress cycles that may start to develop.
