You might consider a career in nursing education! To be most effective it would be best if you had some hands on experience to pull from, but that doesn't mean that you would need to work at the bedside (AKA, the type of nursing you see in the movies). Most of the jobs you would get in the nursing field would be an opportunity for a clinical rotation for students. You could also work in the nursing lab teaching the basic nursing skills to students. Both would offer consistent continuous education opportunities, you'd be teaching people to care for others, and you'd have plenty of opportunity for research. You could even be a nursing research professor if that was your true passion.

Good luck! Come back if you've got any other questions!

Hello Joseph,

When it comes to science, you have many choices for a career path. I suggest starting with chemistry or microbiology to begin your journey towards earning a four year degree. From there you can chose pharmacy, medicine, nursing or pharmaceuticals to apply your knowledge to care and help people. Ask yourself if you want to work directly with people (for example, patients) or would you prefer to work in a lab doing research? I found my passion for the lab environment and ended up doing research and development for one of America's top snack food companies for 28 years.
