What are some great (and realistic) ways to make/save money for college as a teenager?
I’m especially interested in passive income. But what are some things that TEENS can do without age restrictions? I’m a good writer, I’m good at math, and I’m also good with tech.

Hello, Peityn !
The City of Escalon, California can give you information about youth employment programs as there isn't a Summer Youth Employment Program in your town. You'll have to visit your school's office to obtain a work permit and that is used if you work for a company until you turn 18 in your state of California. So your first step is to obtain the Work Permit. You can call the City Human Resources Department in your town about jobs at (209) 691-7400 or read their website at the link I have left for you below. Your school social worker or counselor may also have resources for employment programs for your age group.
For easy, quick money, try doing garage/tag sales every weekend. If you can make something also sell it at the sale along with the used items.
You mentioned age being a factor but didn't say how old you are. The legal age to work would be 14 in your state of California.
You mentioned passive income. Passive income comes from an initial investment of time and money, so think if you are ready for that at this time. If not, maybe in the future. Some examples of passive income are Rental Income, being a shareholder in a company and getting Dividends, Interest from Savings Accounts, Royalties from books, music or patents, Annuities, and Stock Market Investments. Perhaps passive income may be something you can do in the future.
If you are 16 or older, you can apply for jobs at hospitals doing data entry or food service work. You can go to the websites of businesses in your neighborhood. Go to their Employment link and see what's available or go in person to inquire. What your age is will matter, however.
Make sure your parents and family know that you want to start working. They might be able to know people who would hire you to mow lawns or clean houses.
I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !

Here are some ways to make money:
1. Part-Time Jobs: Work in retail, food service, or babysitting. These jobs offer flexible hours. Some places like Starbucks, Chipotle, and Target may even help pay for your education.
2. Reselling: Sell items you don't use or buy things cheaply and sell them for more on eBay, thrift stores, or garage sales. This is often a great way to earn money.
3. Tutoring: Teach subjects like math, science, English, or music. If you play an instrument, consider joining a band. This can be a rewarding job, though it depends on availability and the time of year.

Hello Peityn! One thing that comes to mind is being a tutor - you can help tutor middle school or elementary school children with math and reading. This not only helps you share your talent(s) but also help a child that may be struggling in that subject and giving back to your community with a few bucks in your pocket!
Hope this helps! Best of luck to you and keep up the great work!
