What study techniques will benefit me in college?

I know that high school curriculum is different than the vigor in college. I am wondering what tools I should utilize in order for me to stay on track and make the best usage of my time. #Spring25

Job’s Answer

I would read a assignment I would highlight the important information, and then make an outline of the highlighted material. Each assignment do the same thing. I made the outline the night I read the material for the first time.
When a test comes up, make an outline of the outlines you have already made. With each outline make them shorter, condensing each new outline.
Then make flashcards for the information and memorize the information.
This is a long and time consuming but this process allowed me to get straight A's through college, law school and my MBA.
People are supposed to remember things after writing things 3 times.
Good luck

Amy’s Answer

Use a calendar to map out all of your assignments. Track your progress so that you stay on target. Make sure you stay on top of your readings. While you are completing a reading, always highlight key points and jot down questions you have. At the end, summarize in your own words to reinforce the concepts. Having a study buddy is also always helpful to brainstorm together and discuss key concepts. Start preparing for exams ahead of time so that you are not cramming at the last minute. Finally, be sure to take study breaks and reward yourself for staying focused.
