As a studio art major, how can I continue to be consistent within my craft with a busy schedule?

As a busy college student that has a mild work load within each class, sometimes I may not get enough time to focus on what I love to do which is drawing and exploring new mediums. I find with some of my classes such as my biology classes, I have to put more focus into in order to maintain a good grade. I find that this cuts into the excess time I have to practice.

You've asked an important question, as this is something many college students experience. Balancing your interests and/or hobbies while maintaining your grades can be tough, and oftentimes some people drop their extracurricular skills entirely because they don't know how to balance the workload. Don't do that!

Balancing your course load can be tricky, so it can be helpful to set up a schedule to allot time to your craft. Realistically, you probably won't be able to dedicate as much time as you're normally used to for art. However, aim to set up at least an hour a week, setting up more if you have more time to spare. It might feel like a downer that you can't dedicate as much time as you originally wanted, but scheduling weekly (or more) sessions will ensure you get time to enjoy the things you like while also continuing to develop and practice your skills.
