Hi,
That is a great question, I try to apply what I learned in Psycholgy almost everyday in work, business and personal relationships. I did not major in psychology but I did take over 10 classes in Psych while in college.
I think in general you can use Psychology to help you understand how others may feel or perceive your business...everything from what you say, what you do, how you write to them etc. By thinking about how your message will be received, you can avoid issues that come up from mis-communication or just saying things that people may mis-interpret. Nowadays with social media all over the place, the things that you put out on your website/facebook page/twitter, etc. are all open to someone's interpretation of the message...using Psychology can help make the message a good, clear one that people will take positively or at least not take negatively ...which can all increase your sales and business.
Hope this makes sense and helps...good luck!

Thank you comment icon I minored in psychology and it has been invaluable in my interactions in business. Learning how others tick will aid in stakeholdering ideas and moving any project forward! Terri Chase

Hello Rome. This is a very good question! According to google, psychology is "the study of mind and behavior. It encompasses the biological influences, social pressures, and environmental factors that affect how people think, act, and feel." So in essence psychology will always play a role in our day to day, as it goes hand in hand. Especially in this climate we are in today where there is a constant change and multiple chain of events. Being able to view one's opinions about a certain subject will aid you in better understanding the situation at hand and how that person feels. I studied Business in graduate school and what I learned from working with my classmates on different projects is that communication is key. Being open and honest is a good quality to have. Being receptive and having the ability to receive constructive criticism is also a great quality. One should learn that in business you will deal with all sorts of people from all different walks of life but try not to be judgmental, listen to understand, respond, and be respectful to one another. I hope this helps and I wish you the best. Continue moving forward!

Yes, this can definitely help you. Especially if you go into a role surrounding employee training. Understanding how different people think and how they need to learn can be so helpful. I work as an employee manager and this is an ongoing thought process for me. I spend time each day focusing on my relationships, building trust, and gaining their buy in. Any knowledge I have picked up in psychology has been very helpful.
