I am considering an undergraduate in engineering, would this help me in patent law? If you have an undergraduate other than prelaw, how has it helped you as a lawyer? #Fall25

I want to go into patent law and I want to study engineering for my undergraduate degree. I am looking to understand how a varied skill set can help me in my career.

Yes! Engineering is an excellent undergraduate degree on a path towards becoming a Patent lawyer; in fact, a background in STEM is actually going to be a pre-requisite for most prominent Patent attorney positions.
