Hi, Maria !

I am not a nursing student or a Nurse, but I would like to provide some advice for you.

Well, Pre-Nursing in California Colleges is for taking the prerequisites for the Nursing Program. The California Colleges that offer a pre-nursing program are for students that have an interest but does not guarantee admission into the nursing program. The typical path to apply for the Nursing Program could be that you've had the prerequisites in High School already or your Nursing Program has specific requirements to take the prerequisites at their college.

You will have to look at the Nursing Program of the college you plan to attend and read what the prerequisites are from what you took in High School and what they want you to first take in that college before being evaluated for their Nursing Program. When you enroll at the selected college, declare that your Major will be Nursing.

If you have not fulfilled the subjects that your college nursing program requires, it may be a good idea to take them during a summer session or in your first semester so that you can get them completed and enter the Nursing Program sooner than later. But as I mentioned, you're going to have to know which college you'll be going to in order to know the prerequisites to take and if you need to take them first.

No one cam tell you how smooth or difficult you will find the courses for Nursing. They are mostly Life Sciences like Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and similar courses usually. You will have to have a strong interest in life science to like nursing school. Only you can gauge your interest and ability for these subjects. Nursing School does require a lot of studying and focus and it will be enjoyable for you if Nursing is what you really want to do.

More important than how hard or easy the courses are is the interest in the work. You will have to want to work with ill and injured patients of all populations. If you are not sure about this career, explore it more in depth before you make a commitment to a nursing program. If you are already worried about it being too difficult, speak with your High School guidance counselor who can evaluate your academic performance in high school and help you decide if nursing is the right niche for you.

This is something you alone can decide after being more informed. Read the college's Nursing Program curriculum and determine if you want to be in that program. Since you are questioning it now, explore by watching some videos about nursing school or nursing. I left a link below of some of these video you can watch to help you determine if you will like nursing school or not.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !
