What do you hope the next generation of nurses will carry foward?
Hello! My name is Ana, I am a soon-to-be nursing student!
I want to know the values and/or lessons that experienced nurses believe are the most important to keep alive in my future career. Whether that be traditions, skills, etc. #Fall25

Remember why you wanted to become a nurse in the first place. Sometimes the pressure of the business can get in the way of caring. This is not the easiest job and while it is a stable job it is not going to make you millions. However you do meet some awesome people along the way. Also medicine is always changing so never stop learning!

Resilience! Flexibility! Healthcare is ever changing. Sometimes so fast that by the time you’re done with nursing school, it may be different than what you were taught. Not the standards or basics of nursing, but the patient population, the climate of health care. One thing for sure is, nursing school teaches you foundations of nursing. I would know those foundational roots to become a great nurse. We are so far removed with the foundations of nursing in today’s innovative world. Bring the human aspect to the bedside when taking care of patients: speak to them, compassion, empathy, touch, eye contact. Those are missing in today’s nursing!

To be a profession and keep people to recognize nurses are not just a female profession, but for all. Somehow keep admin at bay so they don't intimidate. Excellent communication with the public at all times.
