Hey!

First you need to pinpoint exactly what kind of chef you want to be. What industry are you interested in?

Personal chef?
Celebrity chef?
Corporate chef for a company?
Regional chef for an healthcare organization?

I’m a traveling chef for an organization and make almost 90k but, I have also been in the industry for 16 years. I started when I was 20. I dropped out of HS(bad circumstances), and went to trade school for culinary and got my HS diploma online.

This industry takes a lot of work and isn’t the most financially rewarding. There are a lot of factors that play into salary. Passion is what you need. Without the love for it, the money won’t make you happy.

Hope this helps a bit

I don't know of any trade school programs that train specifically for "traveling chef" jobs.
Vocations like this vary widely from, for example, a private chef working for a wealthy family/client who travel a lot and have specific dietary or taste preferences they wish to adhere to. Or, you might have developed a culinary skill, like pastry for example, work for a large hotel/resort company and travel to their various locations to consult and develop in-house bakery programs. I did this for a while.
You might receive more relevant advice if you were more specific about the job you're imagining.

Nonetheless, to land a job like this you must be very experienced and skilled in all culinary disciplines. You cannot go to culinary or trade school and expect to land such positions straight after graduation. You need to build your resume over many years in various culinary applications. You've got to know what you are talking about and be an expert in the field and have a depth of knowledge of operational and financial aspects of the job, not just cooking experience.
